In a week, Sharjah police has confiscated 227 bikes as part of its recently launched traffic campaign. 
Major Abdallah Al Monzeri, Director of the traffic coordination department of external roads said the campaign launched by the Traffic and patrolling department of Sharjah police mainly targets violating cyclists who drive in a dangerous manner risking the lives of road users. 
"We have confiscated the bikes of cyclists who were seen crossing roads randomly without any respect to traffic rules and safety guidelines, such as the florescent jackets and helmets."
The campaign was held at the industrial area roads, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed road, Al Orooba street, Al Zahra and Waasit street among others.
