Sharjah Police have launched a 'curbing crimes patrols' project to ensure safety and security for residents in the emirate.
The project has been created to follow the vision of the ministry of interior that aimed at making UAE one of the safest country in the world.
Brigadier Saif Al Zari, Chief of Sharjah Police told Khaleej Times that the project is part of the police's efforts in making the residents feel safe and secure, and minimizing the crime rate in the emirate.
The project will include 'crime curbing patrols' to reduce crimes in the streets and residential areas. These patrols will be deployed in each street and corner of the emirate 24-hours-a-day and seven days a week.
The patrols will move around to spot hazardous situations in the street that pose a threat to the safety of residents and prevent incidents and crime that occur due to negligence, carelessness and negative elements.
Brigadier Mohammed Bin Bayat, Director of Police operation, said that the new patrols will be intensified in all parts of the emirate and will be provided with files by the authority to deal with all kinds of suspected cases and create awareness among the public as well as exchange information with various fields units in combating crimes in areas with high crimes rates.
