Sharjah Police have launched the Innovation Lab for its emergency, emergency, crisis and disaster management team members.
The initiative has been unveiled coinciding with the UAE innovation week.

Major-General Saif Al Zeri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief, Sharjah Police, said the novel mechanism sought to tackle the raging Covid-19 pandemic and measures taken to rein in the spread of the contagion in the emirate and also keep a strict vigil on repeat offenders.
The Sharjah Police authorities also discussed various facets of the Covid-19 pandemic such as complying with protocol, conducting aggressive tests and also encouraging the public to voluntarily take part in the vaccination drive.
The ideas were discussed threadbare for a comprehensive growth, development and safety of community members, he added.
Major-General Al Shamsi emphasised on the need to establish innovative labs, which would come in handy for the public.
“Cooperation with strategic partners will help achieve and further enhance collective security,” he added.
Colonel Tariq Al Midfa, Director, Strategy and Performance Development Department, Sharjah Police, said that the lab was a golden opportunity for all stakeholders to come up with innovative ideas and find lasting solutions to win over the Covid-19 challenge.
“Solidarity holds the key in a bid to safeguard the community’s interests in Sharjah and the UAE at large,” he said.
Colonel Al Midfa also announced the launch of the "Open Innovation Award", which is open to people from all walks of life and age categories.
There are two categories for the award such as projects and ideas and both are linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Online registration is open till March 20 after complying with all terms and conditions of the Sharjah Police authorities.
