A 34-year-old Pakistani was arrested for smashing windows of cars parked in Sharjah's Al Majaz area. The Sharjah Police are probing the incident. The man, who is believed to be mentally unstable, claimed that he didn't receive his salary from the company where he is employed in Dubai.

Eyewitnesses told the police that the man initially tried to jump off the high rise building but was stopped by the residents. He went down and started indiscriminately smashing the windows of parked cars in the area. The police said that the man will undergo a check-up to confirm his mental condition.
Earlier, the police received a call from residents of the area on Sunday evening about the unruly behaviour of the man. The nearest patrol of Al Buhriah police station was dispatched and reached the site where they found the man in a hysterical state. He was immediately arrested and taken to the detention centre. The police also took stock of the damaged cars.
Sara Al Amin, a resident of the area, said that they heard loud sound coming from outside their building and when they looked through the window, they saw a man smashing car windows randomly.
"I ran down to protect my car, but found it already damaged. He destroyed the front glass of my vehicle. No one could stop him until the police arrived. We all reported the damage to the cops and will check with the insurance company to fix them."
Some residents in the area shot video showing the man smashing the car windows, which went viral on social media.
