His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is the most-followed Arab leader on Twitter, according to Burson-Marsteller's 2017 Twiplomacy study.
With 7.9 million followers, Sheikh Mohammed (@HHShkMohd) emerged as the top Arab leader, followed by Jordan's @QueenRania and @KingSalman with six million followers each, the study, released on Wednesday, said.
Among the most followed world female leaders, @QueenRania is at the second spot, while India's Foreign Minister @SushmaSwaraj topped the list with eight million followers. Swaraj is also the most followed foreign minister on Twitter.
The second-most followed foreign minister is Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, @ABZayed, with 3.9 million followers.
Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister @AdelAljubeir took the third rank with 1.3 million followers.
With more than 33.7 million followers, Pope Francis, @Pontifex, emerged as the most followed world leader, followed by US President Donald Trump, @realDonaldTrump with 30.1 million followers.
Indian Prime Minister @NarendraModi is at third place with 30 million followers on his personal account. Modi also has 18 million followers on his institutional account, @PMOIndia, which took the fourth rank.
