As temperatures soar across the UAE - with a 'hot to very hot' forecast by the national met agency - residents usually prefer staying indoors or head to the beach for a dip to cool off, including UAE royalty.
A powerful Dubai royalty was among the hundreds of beach-goers, who visited the popular Jumeirah beach for a swim as the mercury hovered around 50°C this week.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Dubai Ruler, visited the beach to take a dip, according to a recent picture posted on Instagram.
Posted by a member of his entourage, sultan41, the viral post shows the Ruler wading through the cool waters around Jumeirah, with the iconic Burj Al Arab visible in the background.
The post has garnered over 7,000 likes and hundreds of comments in the past 14 hours.
It's not everyday when one gets to see one of the most powerful leaders in the region take a swim.
