Story telling initiative successful

 The 'Story Telling' initiative launched by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development has attracted more than 2,000 school students in last three months, said Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary at the ministry.
"Under the initiative launched under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, 120 books were read in nine cultural centres affiliated to the ministry in all the emirates," she said.
The initiative is in conjunction with the call of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to mark 2016 as the year of reading, she said, expressing her appreciation for artists participating in reading stories to children as methods to attract them to the world of reading.
Al Sabri explained that the ministry organises a programme for story telling every Thursday in all the cultural centres as part of the initiative, which will continue till the end of the year.
