Hundreds of students from Abu Dhabi Indian School, Al Muroor, united to spread the message on the issue of water scarcity and importance of conservation. To draw global attention to the issue, 998 students from Grades 6, 7 and 8 attempted a Guinness World Record at the school ground for the largest human image of an infinity symbol.
The school's 'Hold That Drop' campaign seeks to create awareness among people about the issue of water depletion and how they can make an impact by reducing consumption in each household.
The attempt was organised by students of Math Club 'Pioneers', who felt youngsters need to take lead and ensure there are enough water resources for future generations. The result of the record attempt will be declared three months after the submission of the evidence, they said.
"The infinity loop represents a water cycle, which continues indefinitely, and to keep it moving, we must save water and respect its resources," said Umang Bhandari, the team leader for the attempt.
Anshul Vemulapalli, Grade 11 student and organiser, said: "Saving water can be done by its efficient use in the bathroom and kitchen. We have to put extra effort to conserve water."
