‘Summer yet to start in UAE - until 1.44am on June 21’

Temperatures will vary and reach a maximum of more than 43 degrees Celsius.

Though UAE residents have already started feeling the heat, an expert said the official summer period is just about to begin — at 1.44am on June 21, to be exact.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, said the UAE’s summer months are also expected to last until September 23.
Al Jarwan added that the average temperature in the beginning of this year’s summer is expected to range from 25 degrees Celsius at the minimum and 41 degrees maximum.
“However, the temperature will be ranging between 28 and 43 degrees Celsius in the middle of the season, and finally cooling down to 21 and 39 degrees Celsius at the end of it.”
Those hoping for rains might be a bit disappointed as Al Jarwan predicted it would be quite rare during the season.
“Showers are expected only on the mountainous regions in the eastern part of the country,” he added.
Eid Al Adha predicted
Eid Al Adha is expected to fall on Friday, July 31, according to Al Jarwan.
“Astronomically, the crescent of the lunar month of Zul Hijjah 1441 is to be born on Monday, 20 July 2020 at 21:33, UAE time, and it will then be seen on Tuesday evening, Wednesday, July 22.”
