A digital platform to teach Quran online has been launched by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowment (Awqaf) ahead of Ramadan, said a top official.
Dr Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, chairman of the authority, said aspirant learners will have access to virtual Quran classes on their website.
"The service will be accessible round the week at flexible timings except on Fridays. Male and female teachers will be online from 8:00am to 8:00pm on three shifts taking four classes each," he said.
"The maximum number of the Quran learners allowed per class is seven students. Those interested in the new service can register on the website," he added.
"All community members can avail of these services in the UAE and all they need is a smart phone or a computer and a high-speed internet connection.
The authority also has an interactive syllabus for memorising Quran online, he said.
