The event, which happens twice each year, aims to repay the taxi drivers for their invaluable services to the 50,000 visitors to DCC each day. At the City Gate area of the Centre, taxi drivers were filling up on a choice of vegetarian or meat meals as well as fruit and a drink.

"These taxi drivers have played an integral part in collecting and delivering our customers safely to and from the Centre since we first opened our doors," said Rashid Doleh, General Manager, Deira City Centre. "Twice a year the management personally distributes these lunch boxes to show our appreciation and help build and maintain a strong relationship with the taxi drivers of Dubai."
