The Hope Makers initiative has received over 65,000 applications from individuals displaying their initiatives that have the potential in improving people's quality of life.
On Tuesday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to his Twitter to thank participants from all around the Arab World who applied for his Hope Makers initiative.

The initiative witnessed submissions in education, health, volunteerism and media among other fields, running up for the grand prize of Dh1 million.  
Announced in February, Hope Makers initiative recognizes outstanding individuals and institutions in community service and humanitarian work in different fields.  
While submissions are now closed, the nomination stage, taking place April 11-May 2, will select 12 top applicants, from which the top five finalists will be chosen.  
A screening committee will select the top 12 submissions that qualify for the nomination stage (personal interview) of the initiative.  

Winners will be announced on May 10, where first-place winner will bag Dh1 million, while the other five runner-ups will be awarded by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.  
The initiative looks at individuals who master the skills of selflessly giving and spreading hope across the world. Applicants must have had conducted at least one community initiative, volunteering or any humanitarian act that contributes to people's happiness.  
Hope Makers aims to highlight flashes of hope throughout the region and celebrate men, women and young people striving to serve people and communities and improve living conditions.
