His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has dedicated five decades in serving the nation.
As a tribute, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Saturday penned a touching letter, in which he called the Dubai Ruler his "brother, teacher and the companion of my journey".
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince also urged "those in this country and beyond to say a word of thanks to the leader who enriched the country with his thoughts, visions, innovations and his exceptional initiatives". Rulers, top officials, businessmen and residents came out in full force to thank the iconic leader as the letter went viral.
Khaleej Times, too, opened a forum online under #ThankYouHHShkMohd_KT, inviting readers to share their gratitude. Here's a compilation of some of the messages.
