Retailers in the UAE are all geared up to launch Black Friday sales, offering up to 70 per cent discount, among other offers.
Some retailers will be running the sale for a week while others may be running it throughout November. Known as Black Friday in the West, the mega-popular sale campaign has been named White or Yellow Friday by some local e-retailers. Black Friday will be marked on November 27 this year.
Maya El Ayach, senior vice-president for growth and digital strategy, atnoon.com, said this year’s Yellow Friday Sale will begin on November 23 and end at midnight on November 29.
“It’s our third Yellow Friday Sale and we’re expecting it to be our biggest yet… Customers can expect up to 70 per cent off, surprise raffles, incredible bundles, and more. During the build-up to Yellow Friday, we will also reveal surprises, countdown sneak-peek deals, and a huge 11/11 sale on November 11,” said El Ayach.
She said customers in the noon.com VIP loyalty programme will get extra cashback and customers purchasing items using a Visa debit or credit card in the UAE will receive an additional 15 per cent off.
An Amazon.ae spokesperson said over the last six years, White Friday has become a special celebration and time for customers in the UAE as people avail incredible deals for themselves as well as for their families and friends.
“It’s something we look forward to every year now as it’s quickly become the biggest sale on our calendar for customers. We’ll be holding White Friday in November once again this year while ensuring the safety of our employees, customers and selling partners,” said the spokesperson.
Carrefour UAE has also launched a month-long sale on key items as part of the Black Friday Sale.
Running until December 5, the 'Carrefour Friday' promotions include buy-one-get-one-free deals, discounts up to 70 per cent, and a three-day super sale across all categories, including groceries, electronics, home appliances, and health and beauty products. The sale will begin on its website and then make its way to stores across the UAE.
Shoppers can get Dh100 cashback vouchers when they shop online.
Noon.com’s El Ayach said she expects more customers to shop during the sale than ever before. It will offer competitive rates on electronics, fashion, and mobiles to home essentials, health and fitness, kids toys, and more.
“Our team has been super busy preparing, with a mission to make 2020’s Yellow Friday our best sale yet. We will have over 10,000 yellow vans on the roads to help deliver Yellow Friday orders safely and swiftly to customers and also offer a 100 per cent contactless service with online pre-payment and leave-at-the-door silent delivery,” added El Ayach.
