Revelers who will be watching the fireworks light up around the city of Dubai have already made their plans on how to beat the rush. It could be as easy as coming early to the designated spots to more hard-line decisions such as leaving their cars at home and taking public transport. People forget Murphy's Law, however, which states, "If anything can go wrong, it will." So, in order to help you avoid unnecessary stress during the last day of 2016, here are some useful pieces of information for every fireworks display location in Dubai.

Burj Khalifa

It's no secret that seeing the Burj Khalifa fireworks is the highlight of New Year's Eve fireworks every year. Despite the huge crowds, many residents and even tourist flock to the world's tallest building to see a fireworks display that remains unparalleled in the region and even the world.
Via public transport: The Dubai Metro will run non-stop during the New Year's celebrations. But access to the Burj Khalifa, via the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, will be closed from 10pm to 6am. So keep that in mind when you're going by public transport.
Via car: Going by car will be difficult as some roads will be closed to make room for pedestrians. If you do get your car within the area, however, the other problem will be how to leave the venue after the fireworks display. Most roads going to Burj Khalifa will be closed by 6pm.
Where to view: Dubai Fountain, Souq al Bahar, Burj Park, Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Al Manzil Plaza

The Palm Jumeirah

What's interesting about Palm Jumeirah is that the fireworks light up in the shape of the Palm. This is unique.
Via public transport: Take the Metro going towards UAE Exchange Metro station. Alight at DAMAC Properties station or Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Transfer to the Dubai Tram which will take you all the way to Al Sufouh Road. From the Al Sufouh tram station, there is a footbridge leading towards the Palm Jumeirah monorail.
Where to view: Jumeirah Beach, Kite Beach, any hotel around the Palm

Burj Al Arab

Burj Khalifa too crowded for you? Worry not! Burj Al Arab is next on the list of spots to see during New Year. The fun part? It's not just the Burj Al Arab that will be lit up. Other Jumeirah properties such as the Jumeirah Beach Hotel will also be setting off fireworks to ring in 2017.
Via public transport: Take buses on the seaside of either Dubai Internet City or Nakheel Metro station. These buses take the Al Sufuoh Road and stop near Burj Khalifa. These are buses 88, X28 and 8.
Via car: Again, cars are not advised since parking areas will be located far from the venue. Unless you want to walk, that is.
Where to view: Umm Suqeim Park, in front of Dubai Police Academy, Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah beach
