Forget caramel, butter or salt pop corn, the ultimate form of corn has finally arrived and it is taking social media by storm.

If you thought corn can only be grown in the regular pale yellow colour, it's time you check your Instagram feed. Vibrant Glass Gem corn have become the new internet sensation.

Thanks to Carl Barnes, a farmer in Oklahoma, for first developing this unique variety of rainbow-colored corn and making its photos viral since 2012. And what more? It's an all-natural vegetable and grown by crossing numerous traditional corn strains with one another.

A Facebook page for Glass Gem allows people from around the world to post pictures of their own harvests of this gorgeous corn.

Now grab a bowl of popcorns as you gawk at these stunning photos that are making rounds on the internet. Too pretty to eat. Too yummy not to eat.

So in Dubai can we soon expect to see gold-plated corn? Let's wait and watch!
