Raju Jethwani
Chairman, Eurostar group
Raju Jethwani began his journey in Dubai in the early 1980s. The city has retained its transparency and speed of operation, which are the key ingredients of its success, he said. He attributed his success to this land of opportunities.
Jethwani was just 25 when he began his journey in 1982 in Saudi Arabia. Within months, he came to Dubai on a visit visa.
"I distinctly recall the Dubai airport then. It was a single building structure, the only one on the airport road, and had very basic amenities. You could hop off the aircraft onto a bus and then head straight to the immigration queue. This memory of the airport is a really remarkable one for me because it's such a strong reminder of how much the city has grown and how far it has come since.
"I feel so grateful to be a part of this wonderful city and witness its evolution. This city has given me the platform to establish my brand Eurostar and helped me take its operations across the GCC."
