Expecting a low turnout of employees as well continuity of operations, some companies in the UAE have switched Eid Al Adha holidays next week from Monday to Thursday, making it a 5-day straight break for the employees.  
Banks in the UAE also been given Thursday as a holiday, making it a 5-day holiday for the employees from Monday till Friday and the work will resume on Saturday.

Earlier, the UAE government had announced 3-day Eid holiday for private sector from Monday to Wednesday and employees have to resume work on Thursday.
Interestingly, few companies have announced Thursday also as a holiday, making it a 6-day break for the employees.
An Abu Dhabi-based construction and contracting company sent a memo to its staff, saying offices will remain open on Monday.
Eid Al Adha private sector holidays announced in UAE
"Construction site and project offices will remain open on 20th August (Monday) to ensure the continuity of works and production at site during the holiday and closed from Tuesday, August 21 till Thursday, August 23," reads the memo.
Similarly, Central Bank announced earlier that nationals and major branches will remain closed for Eid holidays from Monday, August 20, till Thursday, August 23. The banks will officially resume for business on Saturday, August 25.
