The Abu Dhabi Police have arrested three men - an Arab and two Asians - allegedly for forging medical documents for money.
Lieutenant Colonel Mattar Moadid Al Mohiri, director of the Anti-Corruption Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said the gang made Dh500,000 by forging 450 medical documents every month.
"One of the Asian suspects, identified as 31-year-old M. Sh., was working as a nurse with a private clinic in Abu Dhabi," he said.
"The suspect used to forge the medical certificates and seal them with the stamp of the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi, at his residence," said Lt. Col. Al Mohiri, adding that the police had recovered two laptops, two stamps and a number of forged medical documents.
"On interrogation, the prime suspect said he was working for the Arab suspect, identified as 41-year-old Z. S., who works at a government department," he said.
"Z.S. used to sent the names and details of his clients through SMS to M. Sh. for forging the documents. Once he finished the work, M. Sh. handed the forged documents over to the third suspect, Y. G,, who works as a driver. He used to receive the cash from their clients and delivered the documents," the official disclosed.
He called on the public to report any information on suspected corruption to the officials concerned by contacting Aman service (aman.gov.ae) through the toll-free number 8002626 or by sending SMS to 2828 or the e-mail aman@adpolice.gov.ae.
