A lot of things have happened over the week - an unusual sort of A380 landed in Dubai, the newest jogging path in town has been opened and the Capital is gearing up for the F1 finale. So with all those being said, here are our top picks of things you should definitely check out over this weekend.

Volunteer for a dog shelter

When: November 25 and 26
Where: Stray Dogs Center UAQ, meeting points at Mirdif and Ajman

Stray Dogs Centre in Umm Al Quwain will be having a volunteer day on Friday and Saturday to help out pooches that have been abused, abandoned or forgotten. The group will take dogs for a walk, shower them with treats and overall give them some well-deserved care. Who knows you might even find yourself a new best friend.

Get fit by learning from the world's fitness leaders

When: November 24-26
Where: Dubai International Marine Club

Learn a new exercise, or find some inspiration to get going or get started at Fitness Expo Dubai. The show will have more than 100 live shows from leading names in the fitness world, and displays from the region's best gyms and health brands. You can even go home learning a capoeira trick or some Muay Thai moves!

Jog and take a selfie with Atlantis

Where: The Palm Jumeirah
Open since Monday, the new 11km boardwalk just in front of the Atlantis hotel has 11km worth of jogging path so you can shed some of those calories you gained from partying last Thursday. Exhausted? Food trucks are also parked beside the boardwalk so you can also grab your healthy breakfast after you run.
