During the opening ceremony, Dr. Izz Al Deen bin Zughaibah delivered a speech on behalf of Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Centre. Dr Bin Zughaibah highlighted the importance of enhancing the performance of scientists as well as preserving the scripts of Arab heritage to cope with modern technology.
Dr Hadi Ahmed, one of the participants, in his speech praised the efforts of Mr Al Majid in serving the cause of culture and science.
The programme, which was inaugurated by Mr Al Majid, aimed at enhancing the performance of employees of the centre and developing the skills of the professionals working in indexing and information gathering fields. The training course was organised with the purpose of contributing to the development of the civil society in the UAE, as it will serve the centre's policy of offering the scientific experiences to establishments and individuals wishing to upgrade their professional and scientific performance, in addition to giving the professionals a chance to keep pace with the latest technological development in indexing.
Several representatives from scientific and cultural institutions are participating in the programme such as the UAE Heritage Club in Al Ain, University of Sharjah's Library, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Auqaf and Islamic Affairs, UAE Ministry of Defence, Dubai Police Department, Dubai Directorate General of Planning and and Development among others.
The training course includes 72 hours of classes and is being conducted by specialists in library sciences and the IT industry.
