Dubai: Metro services resume after disruption between Equiti and Max stations
Alternative bus services have been provided at the affected stations
Metro services on the Red Line have now been restored, after a disruption between Equiti and Max stations on Monday evening during peak hour, as per the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai.
The authority informed commuters of expected delays due to technical issues. Alternative bus services were provided at the affected stations.
As per eyewitnesses, commuters on the Red Line travelling towards Max station were asked to step out of trains, while those waiting on platforms were not allowed to board trains.

Announcements at the DMCC metro station informed commuters of the situation. "Train services are experiencing delays on the red line. Please listen for further announcements."
No train schedule was displayed on screens near the information desk.
RTA informed commuters that service has been restored on the Red Line, by a post on X at 6.33am on Tuesday morning. The authority thanked Metro users for the cooperation.
On Monday evening, travellers were told by the metro staff that they were not sure how long the halt would last for.
With alternate buses being provided, commuters scrambled out of the station to make their way home.

Pratik, a gym instructor who lives in Business Bay, said had to cancel his training session with a client near Dubai World Centre. "I tried to hail a cab but couldn't find one," he said.
Anette, another resident who works at a hotel in Business Bay, walked to the Business Bay Metro Station only to find out the trains weren't running. "I can't believe this. I was counting on the metro to get home quickly. Now I'm stuck like everyone else," she said.
At 11.15pm, a KT staffer, for whom it usually takes 15-18 minutes to travel back home to Karama, was stuck between navigating three different buses he had to take to reach home.
"There are huge crowds at metro stations and lots of traffic as people wait for buses to be arranged. Until Onpassive the crowds are still okay, but after that there are people still waiting to find their way back home."

For travellers who are required to switch to the Green Line, the Centrepoint route is a key course as it includes interchange stations like Union and Burjuman that go towards Green Line stations like Etisalat and Creek.
Stations like Business Bay, Dubai Mall, Financial Centre, Emirates Towers, World Trade Centre, Max, ADCB, Burjuman, Union, Rigga etc. fall in this route.
