A heavy truck crashed into a pedestrian bridge on the Sheikh Zayed Road in. The collision left the vehicle completely damaged. Luckily, there were no casualties.
Al Falasi explained that the load, which included building materials and crane equipment, exceeded the permissible height, which led to the collision. It made the goods fall off the vehicle in the middle of the road, causing traffic obstruction and damage to the bridge.
He added that the lack of compliance with the traffic rules leads to most accidents.
He called on the drivers to take all necessary precautions to fix the load and check the height as well as weight before transporting goods to ensure that there are no untoward incidents.
