The Ajman Municipality has fined a truck driver Dh20,000 for violating environment protection regulations. The truck driver transported the waste and dumped it in an unauthorised area in the emirate.
Khalid Moain Hosani, Executive Director of Public Health and Environment, confirmed that the department was able to monitor the truck, which was found disposing wastes in non-designated sites. The department then instructed its inspectors to take quick action.
Al Hosni explained that trained personnel in the department soon investigated the case properly and found that the truck was violating general laws and transporting waste from outside the emirate.
He added that the department is making great efforts in combat the phenomenon of improper disposal of waste. The municipality will issue a hefty fine for those who violate regulations related to environment and public health, he added.
He urged the public to cooperate with the municipality to report about any illegal activities that affect stability and beauty of the emirate.
