"We were tipped off about the first accused possessing a quantity of heroin and was looking for someone to transport it to Kuwait and that he would pay him Dh12,000 for every kilo if he did the job," an anti-narcotics police corporal said.
The corporal went undercover to meet the driver in the Fruit and Vegetables Market in Ras Al Khor. "I asked him whether the drugs belonged to him and he claimed he was just keeping the drugs. He said he picked up the drugs from a man he did not know and that he was following the instructions of someone in Pakistan," the officer said.
