The Ajman Police arrested two Arabs for damaging cars to steal their contents, including valuables, on Wednesday. The suspects stole Dh3,000 from a car parked in Al Jarf area.
Col Said Al Matroushi, Director of CID, said several complaints were received about thefts from cars. The police formed teams following a complaint lodged by one of the victims who said the glass of his car was broken and Dh3,000 was missing.
The team launched an investigation to arrest the culprits. The efforts resulted in identifying the car of the suspects found parked near a mosque. Police saw one of the culprits inside the car while another came out and moved towards another car in the same parking area. He was beginning to damage its glass when they saw the police and tried to drive away.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they stole Dh3,000 from a car in Al Jarf area. They were referred to Ajman Public prosecution. Col.Al Matoushi has urged the public not to keep cash and other valuables in the car.
