Two young men have gone on trial accused of raping a woman after offering her a lift.
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance heard that the Emirati men, in their 20s, found the woman standing at a bus stop in the capital during the evening and offered her a lift home.
The woman accepted the men's offer. The Asian woman told prosecutors that the men undressed her and forced her into having sex with them, on the way.
The woman accused the men of pulling over the car along the roadside a dark and quiet place and taking turns in assaulting her.

She said she tried to fight the men and even begged them to spare her but in vain.
The woman later complained to police and gave the police the description of the men who had attacked her.
A medical report confirmed that the woman was raped.
The police arrested the duo and the prosecutors charged the Emiratis with raping the woman and consuming drugs. In the court, the young men admitted to using drugs but denied raping the woman.
The men said they only offered the woman a lift and did not do anything wrong to her.
One of the men told the court he was an addict and requested to be taken to rehab for treatment.
The men's lawyer argued that the woman boarded the men's car willingly and that there was nothing to suggest that she was forced into anything including sex.
The lawyer also requested that the victim appear in court and gives a testimony.
The trial was adjourned until September 19.
