UAE: Abu Dhabi Police win international honour for reaching out to community

Abu Dhabi - Force also wins the maiden Outstanding Achievement for Community Partnership award

The Abu Dhabi Police have bagged a six-star rating in the European Foundation for Global Quality Management (EFQM) Award 2021 for their untiring efforts in engaging with community members.

The force also won the maiden Outstanding Achievement for Community Partnership award.

The authorities said in a statement that they were keen on providing comprehensive smart services that enhance the public's access to services easily and conveniently in a way that improves the quality of life for the Emiratis and UAE residents alike.

The force said it was also proactive in preventive services through its security and community services, which led to building confidence among all sections of the society in the Abu Dhabi emirate and in the EFQM forum.

Major-General and Staff Pilot, Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, said the advanced classification according to the "stars" system is the result of a journey of distinctive leadership in which all sectors of the police force have made continuous efforts.

They have adopted the concept of innovations in anticipating the future and building proactive services, according to the latest technological methods.

“It prompts us to exert more efforts towards the sustainability of this process by stressing the importance of continuous evaluation of the efficiency of our digital channels in providing services and building on opportunities for improvement,” said Al Mazrouei.

Russell Longmeier, chief executive officer, (CEO), EFQM, hailed the force’s contribution.

“They have lived to their promises to all stakeholders and the Abu Dhabi community members."

He added: “We have been so impressed by the degree of commitment and expansion by the Abu Dhabi Police and their reaching out and engagement with the community. The Abu Dhabi Police was awarded the first-ever award for Outstanding Achievement for Community Partnership, in addition to the EFQM Global Award, a six-star rating.”

Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police, said that this recognition reflects the force’s efforts to achieve its vision, mission and the Abu Dhabi Government's Vision-2021 in ensuring that the community members enjoy the highest safety and security.

“This is through employing and harnessing all efforts and major operations in a proactive manner, which achieved the highest levels of satisfaction and confidence, which is more than 98 per cent over a period of five years in all policing areas. The Abu Dhabi emirate has been one of the safest cities in the world for five consecutive years,” he added.
