The cafeteria had previously received three violations and a warning regarding its practices affecting food safety. The authority confirmed that the administrative closure will remain in place as long as the violations exist and until the facility addresses the identified issues and meets the necessary requirements to resume operations.
All establishments in the Capital, in different nature and their food products, are subjected to periodic inspection by the authority to ensure that they comply by the safety regulations. The closure reflects Adafsa's commitment to maintain the food safety system and its role in ensuring compliance with regulations across all facilities.
Adafsa appealed to the public to report any violations observed in any food establishment or, if the contents of the food are suspected, by calling the toll-free number 800555 so that the authorities inspectors take the necessary action to ensure safe and sound food for all community members in Abu Dhabi.
Authorities in the emirate shut down establishments if they pose risk to public health. Recently, two restaurants were shut down in Abu Dhabi for violating food safety laws.
