An additional Dh320-million budget has been approved for national universities in the UAE for the next academic year, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on Sunday as he chaired a Cabinet meeting held virtually.
In one of his tweets on Sunday, Sheikh Mohammed also said 'life will soon return' to schools and colleges. The budget, he said, has been earmarked for the varsities' development.
"Life will return to our universities, schools and classes soon, and the government is responsible for creating a suitable environment for the next school year 2020-2021," he tweeted in Arabic.
The Cabinet has also approved a new 'National System for Sustainable Agriculture', which aims to improve farms across the country, ensure food security, and create new opportunites, the UAE Vice-President said.
"Everything is developing in the UAE, and we want to focus on developing the systems of Emirati farms to be always the best," he tweeted.
