Abu Dhabi-based citizens can use Smart Pass digital platform to purchase subsidised food products and even get them delivered at home during Ramadan this year. The rates and products are all listed on the platform, which covers three municipalities of Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra and Al Ain. The digital platform will serve more than 70,000 registered households, who are on the beneficiaries' list.
A total of 139 subsidised food items are available at six food centres across the emirate and the municipality is considering opening new outlets before Ramadan. Over 1,000 tonnes of rice is stocked to meet the growing demand.
Citizens can access these services through the Smart Hub Platform or download SmartPass mobile app to avail the services. They need to open an account on the Smart Pass platform, then choose the service, identify the food items to be purchased, pay for it, and go to the selected centre to collect it or choose a home delivery service for a fee (Dh42 in Abu Dhabi mainland).
The digital process is a hassle free service as there is no need to present any identity card or document as all data is linked with the smart services system. The digital platform service is available round the clock and does not require the citizen to print any link, bill or request, and all processes are connected with systems and distribution centres digitally.
