Over 3,300 riders have received their first free dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in collaboration with the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha), and the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Of these, 1,700 were vaccinated in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain; and over 1,600 in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.

Talabat had launched the first phase of its voluntary rider vaccination programme in December last year in Abu Dhabi. The second was launched in January 2021 in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.

Jérémy Doutté, vice-president UAE at the food and grocery delivery platform, said: “Our riders are part of our talabat family, we want to do all that we can to keep them safe. Their commitment to us and the broader community throughout the pandemic has been truly heartwarming, knowing they were on the road, delivering meals and groceries to customers’ doorsteps.

“Not only that, they played a key role in the community, by delivering meals to people in need as well as medication to chronically ill patients across the emirates in remote areas.

“Vaccination is the safest and most effective way to protect ourselves from Covid-19. Our riders are choosing to vaccinate to boost their immunity, helping to protect them while on duty.”
