Dams in the UAE have collected 6.7 million cubic meters of water because of the heavy rainfall over the last couple of days, the Ministry of Energy and Industry announced.
Northern emirates have witnessed heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday, and large parts of Dubai and Fujairah saw rain on Monday as well.

Doors of dams had to be opened to allow some of the water to flow through, the ministry said, adding that more rain is expected over the next two days as well.
The ministry urged all visitors to valleys and dams to act with caution and follow safety instructions.
