UAE authorities on Thursday issued a warning to Emirati travellers after a "high number of thefts" were reported in six countries.

A number of Emiratis in Spain, Georgia, Italy, the UK, France, and Austria reported thefts during their visits to these countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa) said.

Urging travellers to be extra careful, Mofa listed some dos and don'ts:

  • Avoid wearing valuable or rare items.
  • Keep official documents secure at your place of residence.
  • Book cars and hotels through reputable global companies to avoid scams and fraud.

The ministry also urged citizens to adhere to travel guidelines in every destination, and register for the Twajudi service. In case of any emergency, they may call 0097180024.
