Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State and head of the UAE/Egypt Liaison Office, has congratulated Egypt's leadership, government and people on the completion of the new Suez Canal.
In a statement he said: "We would like to congratulate the leadership, government and people of Egypt for this monumental achievement that has brought into fruition the strategic vision of the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El Sisi. His unwavering insistence that this project is finalised in one year, truly reflects the resilience of the Egyptian people."
Dr. Al Jaber added: "We in the UAE, are proud of our supportive role in making this project a reality through the hard work of the Challenge Consortium led by the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) and through the diligent follow up of the UAE/Egypt Liaison Office. In close coordination with the Suez Canal Authority we were able to ensure best practice implementation.
"Had it not been the diligent follow up of El Sisi and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, this would not have been a success."- Wam
