Crowds of people flocked to the Al Khulafaa Al Rashedeen mosque in Al Warqaa area and then to the Al Qusais Cemetery to bid farewell to the UAE serviceman Khalid Ali Gharib Al-Beloushi who was martyred in Yemen.
The 36-year-old Sergeant, in a mission to support right, justice and legitimacy, was killed while on duty with the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.
The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces, in an official statement on Friday, announced the martyrdom of Al-Beloushi. "The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces offered its condolences to the family of the martyr, praying to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in eternal peace, and bestow solace on his family."
Proudly the martyr turned to belong to the same family who lost another hero in the war in Yemen a couple of days back. Nader Mubarak Eissa Sulaiman, the cousin of Al-Beloushi, was buried at the Qusais Cemetery on February 17.
Ahmed Ali, bother of the martyr, said his dear brother proudly ended his life while serving his country. "We are all ready to sacrifice our nation with our soul and blood, and the martyrdom of Khalid is an honour to us all."
Pledging to follow the same track, Ahmed said all the martyr's brothers and children are more than ready to follow the directives of the UAE's prudent leadership, and protect the country's achievements.
"The martyr has five kids, including four sons: Mansour, Tariq, Jassim and Nasser, and one daughter Muza. He is of a family of 11 brothers and seven sisters, and they are all dedicated to defend our beloved country."
Khalid's father and mother, who are still alive, are so proud of the martyrdom of their son. "Definitely, his death has sent waves of shock and grief to the entire family, but we are patient and proudly accepted this dignified end of his life story."
Noting, Ahmed said his brother Khalid was a former basketball player with the Al Shaab Sports Club before joining the UAE Armed Forces. "He was known for his good manners and readiness to assist anyone in need for help."
