The Ministry of Education has banned bus drivers from entering guard rooms or other rooms located on school premises.
A circular was issued to all schools after several field visits were conducted and bus drivers were found in the guard's room or in so-called "driver's rooms", all of which is not allowed, as per Al Bayan report.
Drivers are not allowed on the premises during the school day, as "their task is to deliver students and then leave school once they've discharged their duty."
"Bus drivers must adhere to standards, mechanisms and regulations for transporting students. This helps maintain the safety of all our students throughout the day."
Parents had complained about the presence of drivers inside the school campus, worried about the possibility of harassment.
School administrators also praised the ban.
