With the UAE's health care sector pitted as one of the main alternatives to oil for revenue, medical students here could well be celebrating a Nobel Prize in the field of medicine in as little as 20 years. On Sunday, Dubai opened the month-long Nobel Museum Exhibition 2016.
Under the theme: 'Exploring Life: Noble Prize in Physiology or Medicine', this marks the first time the exhibition has been dedicated to the medical field. And according to Chairman of the Nobel Foundation's Board of Directors, Prof Carl-Henrik Heldin, Dubai is the best place for it."The Islamic world acted very early when it came to the advancement and contribution of medicine."But give it another "10 to 20 years", he said, and we could well be seeing a Nobel laureate in medicine here.
