A philanthropist paid Dh100,000 to Ajman Police for purchasing flight tickets for prisoners belonging to diverse nationalities who needed the funds to go back to their home countries following completion of their jail terms.
Major-General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, received Dh100,000 from Yousef Sultan Al-Ajmani to buy airline tickets for the prisoners.
The philanthropist made the goodwill gesture on the occasion of the 49th National Day of the UAE.
Major-General Al Nuaimi said he appreciated the generous support for the humanitarian initiative made by Al Ajman.
He said the gesture helped the inmates’ bid to return to their countries and reflected solidarity, compassion and upheld the UAE’s cherished value of the art of giving.
Al-Ajmani expressed his appreciation for Ajman Police to improve the inmates’ plight. He said that the support strengthened the cooperation with Ajman Police and gave a fillip to humanitarian services adopted by the emirate’s wise leadership.
