All nine Indian schools affiliated to the Kerala Board for Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (SSLC) in the UAE has recorded hundred per cent pass.
The result announced by Chief Secretary P K Mohanty in Trivandrum on Wednesday showed that 533 students had appeared for the examination held in nine centres in Dubai, Abu Dhahi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.
All the students have secured eligibility for higher education with various grades. The nine schools in the UAE are among 1,207 schools which recorded 100 per cent pass throughout Kerala, Gulf and Lakshadweep. UAE schools and students are extremely pleased with this year's results. Prof Nusky Jamal, Principal of NIMS Sharjah, said: "NIMS has surpassed previous school records achieving outstanding results this year with eight students out of the overall total of the 60 securing A+ in all 10 subjects. The girls outshone the boys wherein seven among of the 30 students secured A+ in all 10 subjects."
Prof Jamal said that the top performing students were Arya Prakash, Farisha Kurikkalakath, Fatimath Shala and Nithin Raj.
Top performing students at the Gulf Model School are Gopika Chingan, Amna Abdul Manaf, Shada Sharif and Anie Rose Paul.
A total of 473,803 students had appeared for the examination held in March. Out of this, 457,654 cleared the examination. This works out to a pass percentage of 96.59 percent. As many as 22,879 students secured A+ in all subjects.
The highest pass percentage has been recorded by Pathanamthitta district and the lowest by Wayanad district. Among 476,373 students, 233,034 of them are girls. As many as 3,135 students took the examination in Kannada and 2,163 in Tamil.
The Save-A-Year (SAY) examinations would be conducted from May 23 to 27. The certificates would be delivered at the examination centres by May fourth week, the DPI said.
