Over 400 students from schools across the UAE are contesting in the preliminary and final rounds of Season-5 Rangoli Gulf, the popular UAE interschool team music and dance competition.
Zee TV will soon start beaming this Gulf-centric youth festival, which is directed by Symphony TV.
V. Krishna Kumar, managing director of Symphony TV, said Rangoli Gulf comprises three rounds of contests in music and dance. In the previous four seasons, more than 50 schools in the UAE and 1,200 children of various nationalities, including Emirati, Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Filipino, European, American and African have gained worldwide television exposure through the interschool event.
T.P. Seetharam, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, who inaugurated the fifth Season, described Rangoli Gulf as a successful attempt of edutainment for the youth of the UAE. "As the interschool event aims to foster team spirit and encourage performing arts among school children, it is cultural diplomacy at its best," he said.
Dr. J. Alexander, Chairman, Symphony TV and former Cabinet Minister of Karnataka, was present at the event. The panel of jury comprises playback singer Mohammad Aslam, Kathak dancer Rekha Ramachandran and Symphony Krishna Kumar.
