UAE youth considered as pillars of development and progress

Dubai - Held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this year's edition focuses on the youth, with the theme, 'Youth Government...Future Government.'

The Dubai government is all set for the 9^th edition of Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices, taking place on October 25-26 at the World Trade Centre, officials announced at a press conference on Tuesday.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this year's edition focuses on the youth, with the theme, 'Youth Government...Future Government.'
"The youth are a key pillar of development and progress," Dr Ahmad Al Nusairat, coordinator general of Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP), told Khaleej Times. "They shape the future of nations and we thank God we are a young country with very promising young people who will shape and build the future of the UAE."
The youth sector comprise those who are age 40 and below, Al Nusairat said, adding: "The nation's future rests in investing and promoting their skills and using their talents optimally. We are investing in them - to enable and empower them to do good job anywhere and everywhere."
According to officials, the upcoming forum is a leading interactive platform which hosts well-known experts from local, regional and international levels, to collectively share their experiences.
The first day of the forum will focus on 'Youth Ambitions' where Farah Pandith, an international lecturer who works at the office of US President Barack Obama, will share her rich work experience alongside Ameera Amira, founder of Weyakum, a non-profit social enterprise that aims to equip the UAE youth with the skills necessary to succeed in their professional lives.
The second day will host the global lecturer on Future Insights, Jon Duschinksy, who will talk about 'Virtual jobs: The Jobs of the Future' and Jordan Casey, Apple's youngest programmer and inventor.  There will also be panel discussions and lectures from the winners of DGEP Award 2016, through sessions titled 'Youth Council', 'Session for Innovators' and 'Session for Distinguished Young People'.
Fifteen outstanding young Emiratis who have demonstrated international and local achievements will also participate at the forum.
