In the largest event of its kind in the UAE, GEMS Education, the world's leading provider of K-12 education, welcomed 1,300 school teachers from all over the world to join its network of schools across the Emirates.
A press release issued today said that at the recently held GEMS Awareness Day, new teachers participated in a series of discussions and workshops designed to help them understand more about GEMS Education and connect with the GEMS network.
Senior leaders and experts engaged with the teachers through the day hosting talks and sessions on a range of topics from Teacher Standards and Professional Learning and Development to Parental Engagement and Customer Service.
Teachers were also made aware of GEMS Professional Communities and other networks in place to foster greater collaboration among faculty and facilitate tapping into the depth and expertise in education within the group.
"This year, we have been successful in bringing in the largest ever cohort of teaching talent into the UAE. Through our intensive engagement programs, we aim to empower every teacher to embody what we stand for - to fulfil the potential of every child placed in our care" said Dino Varkey, Group Executive Director and Board Member, GEMS Education.
To further assist the new teachers integrate more easily with their new environment, sessions on understanding more about the local culture and norms were held and information on key services provided.
Representatives from the embassies of the Governments of UK and USA also hosted talks with the teachers.
GEMS Awareness day is held annually in September to welcome new teachers into the GEMS Community.
