 Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is preparing to launch the 10th edition of Sharjah Food Festival from March 31 to April 9, daily from 5 to 11pm.
The festival will take place in four locations across Sharjah — Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Montazah and Heart of Sharjah. This year the festival will include fun and exciting activities such as live cooking shows, cookery competitions, live entertainment and activities for kids.
The festival will host celebrity chefs from around the world. They will present live cookery performances to cook some of the world’s most delicious dishes that suit people of all nationalities and cultures. Visitors will get the opportunity to participate in cookery competitions in which celebrities and media figures will take part.
They will also learn different cooking methods and recipes, and will be able to access the secrets of fruit, food and ice carvings. Different types of food will be available to buy from kiosks and visitors can also attend workshops and lectures about various topics from food health to kitchen safety.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Chief Operating Officer of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) said: “(Shurooq) seeks, through organising these annual activities, to provide special tourist and leisure events which assure that residents, tourists and citizens have a special experience while visiting the various destinations.
This plays a vital role in achieving the goal of promoting Sharjah as the region’s premiere family and tourism destination. Organising the 10th edition of the Sharjah Food Festival is considered one of the most important leisure events on Shurooq’s agenda. This year the festival offers food lovers and amateur chefs so much to see and do. There will be different cooking events to attract families, individuals and tourists from the UAE to Sharjah.”
The festival is a unique event that includes various fun and entertaining activities. It will feature a host of live shows, performances and competitions for kids.
Visitors will get the opportunity to meet international chefs from all over the world, and explore the art of cooking and try different food, dishes and cooking styles. It seeks to diversify family and individual activities in the emirate of Sharjah and promote tourism and commerce all across the region.
