The traffic and patrols department in Ajman has introduced an innovative way to mark Year of Zayed.
In the emirate, when the traffic signals turn green, those who drive or walk can see the image of the founder of the nation displayed on it.
"It was so surprising to see the image of Sheikh Zayed on the green signal while waiting to cross under the Rashidiya bridge opposite the Grand Mall," Ashraf Yaseen, a Jordanian Math teacher told Khaleej Times.
However, Yaseen could not shoot the picture while driving, so he let his friend Dr Ahmed Salem, an Egyptian resident, do it.
"I had to return again so that my friend can easily shot the picture and record a video that we shared with Khaleej Times."
Such nice moves do spread the spirit of the late Sheikh Zayed all around, according to Fadiya Ahmed, a Syrian resident.
"My kids were so happy to notice the image of the late Sheikh Zayed while waiting at one of the traffic signals," she said.
Abdullah Saeed, an Emirati, said everybody should always remember Sheikh Zayed's sayings and stick to his legendary deeds to show appreciation to the founding father.
"This is the least thing we can do to show respect to the founding father of the country, and always revive his memories in our hearts."
