A massive fire broke out in a four-wheel drive car in the Azbah area of Umm Al Quwain on Friday afternoon due to the hot weather.
Sources at the UAQ civil defence department told Khaleej Times that the car suddenly caught fire for no clear reason, but most likely due to the heat.
The central operations room of the UAQ Police, after being alerted of the blaze, dispatched the traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in record time.
The civil defence firefighters managed to put out the fire, but unfortunately the car was completely gutted before they reached the site.
The well-trained firefighters managed to put out the flames and cooled down the car so that the fire would not start again.
UAQ Police has urged the drivers to get their cars serviced regularly during summer in order to control any possible fuel or oil leaks which are mostly blamed for such fires.
Investigations are going on to identify the reasons behind the fire. The case has been referred to the authorities concerned for legal action.
