A traffic policeman in Dubai has been promoted after a video of him pushing a broken down car went viral. Officer Waleed Mallullah Abdullah from the Department of Traffic helped a man to push his car, which broke down in the middle of the road, to safety.
His timely intervention helped the other motorists stuck on the road to move on.
Dubai Police Chief Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri ordered Officer Abdullah's promotion in appreciation of his efforts and dedication.
The traffic policeman thanked the police chief for promoting him. "Such a promotion serves as a medal of honour and is an incentive for me and my colleagues to exert more efforts to serve the community," he said.
