In line with the UAE Year of Giving and reflecting the spirit of generosity and social solidarity that embodies the Holy Month of Ramadan, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has completed the distribution of Mir Ramadan donations to more than 150 underprivileged families in Dubai to help them meet their daily requirements throughout the month.

Under its 'Good Partner' initiative, AMAF also leveraged its synergies with some of the most prominent supporters of charity and social work from the public and private sector in providing donations. The Endowment Development Department at AMAF distributed 300 food baskets to 150 underprivileged families in partnership with Umm Al-Momineen Center and Tarahum Charity Foundation.

The Minors Affairs Department enlisted the support of Aswaaq supermarkets that donated 100 food baskets to underprivileged families.

His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said: "Coinciding with the UAE Year of Giving, this Ramadan truly encourages people to give more to those in need. Mir Ramadan is a cherished tradition that has been followed in Emirati society for generations.

His Excellency added: "In line with our core mandate of supporting the most vulnerable segments of society, Mir Ramadan, one of our annual initiatives, ensures that underprivileged families have sufficient food during the Holy Month without incurring additional financial burdens."
