Popular Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy and the triplets Huey, Dewey, and Louie are in the city and they are in "full bloom" at the Dubai Miracle Garden, which opens for its 7th Season today.
"The floral structures based on the famous Disney characters weigh an average of five tons each and we used at least 30,000 flowers and plants for each character, with Goofy being the tallest at 12 metres," said Basel Ahmad Alaraj, assistant project manager at Dubai Miracle Garden, while giving Khaleej Times an exclusive tour of the 72,000 sqm garden park located in Al Barsha South 3 on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, Dubai Miracle Garden (DMG) marked the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse, with the unveiling of an 18-metre floral structure of the iconic Disney character, which earned the third Guinness World Record for the park.
DMG was awarded as the largest vertical garden in the world in 2013 and in 2016 it created a replica of Emirates A380 in an assortment of flowers and plants to get the record as world's largest floral structure.
This season, Mickey Mouse, is not just joined by his Disney friends and pals but there are new additions as well at the lush garden, including gigantic floral felines that welcome visitors at the gate; three jolly elephants that spout water in different styles and angles, adding to the visual dramatic experience at the section called Lost Paradise; and a Floral Castle for a garden dining experience.
A giant turtle with a garden on its back is at Gate 1 and there is also an amphitheatre for events, live music, dance and Zumba sessions as well as an interactive children's play zone to appeal to the imagination of little ones with trampoline and other exciting activities, adorned with giant flowers.
The garden, which has a total of 250 million flowers and 50 million plants, also has two lakes in the form of a gigantic tree with over seven metre high fountains and another 12-metre high 3D sculptures of animal characters.

There is also an eye-catching flower display in 3D mapping on a floral screen. And after roaming around the vast greenery, visitors can always take a rest at the distinctive Caribbean and Asian hammocks while leisurely resting under the hanging gardens.
"The are a lot of changes at Dubai Miracle Garden for this year. Since we first opened to the public in 2012, we have been constantly innovating every year to offer the best experience to our visitors and for them to come back every year as if they have this garden for the first time," Alaraj told Khaleej Times.
"We change our concept every year and we really put a lot of effort because we want people to be at awe with our work and to feel the miracle in this garden," he concluded.
