A popular Emirati social media star has posted a touching video in support of peaceful relations between Pakistan and India as tensions escalate between the two countries over recent LoC (Line of Control) airstrikes.
Khalid Al Ameri posted a video on his facebook page with his over 2.1 million followers - in light of the simmering tension between India and Pakistan - on how he wants to see both countries live in peace together, as they do in the UAE.
He highlights how UAE is home to 3 million Indians and over a million Pakistani, who work side by side in peace and harmony, making up half of the country's population.
Recounting a touching anecdote from a shop he visited, Ameri says that he once asked an Indian and Pakistani - who were working together - that how did they manage it despite the tension back home, and they said: "We are working together for the same cause, to have a better life for ourselves and our families."
The Emirati goes on to make an emotional plea to both countries to use that same spirit of togetherness and understanding to make lives better in their countries.
UAE shares historical relations with both India and Pakistan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces' call to Prime Ministers of both countries - one of the first by a world leader - is a testament to the relations between UAE and the two neighbouring countries.
Ameri concludes his video with a prayer that both 'India and Pakistan find peace and understanding, now and always (InshahAllah)'.
The #SayNoToWar video has received around 700,000 views since it was posted on Thursday, and at the time of filing this report.
